New details about Mario + Rabbids progress: Sparks of Hope, a follow-up RPG of the 2017 hit strategy, were revealed in an interview.

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope was one of the biggest surprises of E3 2021. The original Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was an amazing collaboration in itself, so its follow-up is very exciting for many fans. As fans anticipate the release of the game in 2022, many details are revealed, including the fact that its development team appears to be much larger than before.

Multiplayer.it spoke to Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope developers Cristina Nava and David Soliani. Soliani is best known for passing through when Shigeru Miyamoto complimented him during E3 2017 during the announcement of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and is also active in the follow-up. Among the details the developers talked about, they ensured that the development team tripled in size, including help from external immersion studios experience.

Hopefully a bigger development team will help Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is completely polished, but the game will have new features and changes. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle had a team of about a hundred, but this much larger group of Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope means a lot can be done, and Nava and Soliani pointed to some of these in the interview.

One of the things that will be different from Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is that players can go to war with any combination of characters they choose. This means they can choose all of Mario's team characters or all Rabbids, which was obviously a fan request. Additionally, the gameplay features a modification of Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope.

Unlike the first game in the series, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope uses a circular motion instead of a tile structure. At that level, players have no movement limit. What does this mean in terms of game balance to be determined, but the game will also include a free camera.

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is building another tough Nintendo project in 2022. According to interviews, the game will include test items, even if it won't be an open world. There is still a lot to discover about this new entry in the series, even with Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope looks appealing. Much will probably be revealed at the start of the game, but it is good to know that such a large team is working on polishing the project.
